What is UC Irvine most known for? ›

The campus has produced five Nobel laureates and is known for its academic achievement, premier research, innovation and anteater mascot. Led by Chancellor Howard Gillman, UC Irvine has more than 36,000 students and offers 224 degree programs.

You are welcome to use a computer ON the UCI Campus (e.g. in Langson Library, Starbucks, etc.) to access most of our licensed electronic resources for personal, educational, non-commercial purposes. You do not need a library card to access these resources.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted in any public areas within Undergraduate Housing. No alcohol permits will be issued to UC Irvine students for events that occur in undergraduate housing facilities.

For every 100 applicants, 21 are admitted. This means the school is very selective. If you meet UC Irvine's requirements for GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and other components of the application, you have a great shot at getting in.
